Bernie Strass has enjoyed a career-long philosophy: “Safe teens, safer roads.”
Since 1980, Bernie has been an Arizona Department of Education certified high school Driver Education instructor. In addition, he is also certified by Arizona’s Department of Motor Vehicles.
In 2005, after having witnessed hundreds of preventable auto accidents, Bernie realized that classroom instruction and simulator cars were just not enough—and it was time to put his philosophy to the test. Bernie established NDDA to provide quality defensive driving instruction to young drivers. His unique curriculum reflects his racing experience, having trained as an auto-cross driver with the Sports Car Club of America and competed in events throughout Arizona.
In addition to Driver Education, Bernie has taught American Government, Economics, American History and Criminal Justice in the Social Studies Department at Arizona high schools. Between teaching careers, he was an attorney in private practice.
